Joining

What does it mean to be a member of Grace Church?

You are already a beloved child of God and belong here, whether you choose to become a member or not. Through baptism, we become members of the body of Christ.

Choosing to become an active member of Grace means you’ve decided this is the community in which you can see yourself growing in faith and love. You’re ready to make Grace your spiritual home and support our mission to Live God’s Love by:

  • Worshipping with us regularly (even when it can’t be in person);
  • Getting to know others and deepening your faith by participating in small groups or classes;
  • Finding ways to serve others and make this world a better place for all;
  • Making an annual financial pledge to the mission and ministries of Grace Church

What if I’m not sure about my faith? What if I don’t know much about the Episcopal Church?

Joining a church doesn’t mean you don’t have big questions or doubts. Deciding to be part of a loving community of faith means you’re open to exploring and wrestling with those big questions and doubts. Most people here did not grow up in The Episcopal Church. Some have never been a member of any church. Many have a background in a different church or faith tradition. At Grace, there will be opportunities to learn, ask questions, and get to know other pilgrims along the way. Classes which offers an introduction to Christianity, The Episcopal Church, and Grace, might be a good place to start. Options are currently available online and will return in person when Covid-19 restrictions allow.

As Christians and Episcopalians, we’re committed to practicing a Jesus-centered life, what The Episcopal Church calls, “The Way of Love”.

Are there steps to take to officially join?

Once you’ve made the decision to make Grace your spiritual home, the next step is to share that good news and let us know!

  • If you are baptized and coming to Grace from another Christian denomination, you can begin by filling in a membership form, which will provide baptismal and other information for our parish records.
  • If you’ve been a member of another Episcopal Church and wish to transfer membership, please contact the parish office ([email protected]) to arrange for a “Letter of Transfer.”
  • Make your annual pledge.
  • If you or your child have not been baptized and wish to become a member, please contact the Rev. Todd McDowell+ at [email protected]
