Taize Evensong November 3
A Place to Meet God
Our series of quiet, contemplative worship on the first Sunday of each month, continues at 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, with a Taize-style Evensong.
This worship tradition began in 1940 in the ecumenical French monastic community called Taizé. It is a quiet service of meditation, reflection, readings and music. Everyone is encouraged to participate as the Spirit moves them, whether that be in song, prayer, or quiet meditation. The liturgy that has been developed around the Taizé community is primarily for the worship of God, but it is also meant to quiet the soul.
At this service we will commemorate before God the saints and faithful departed. Parishioners are invited to light candles to commemorate their family and friends who have gone before us. Please come and join us for this peaceful and moving service.
