Grace Church Explores Expansive-language Liturgy
You will notice some changes in our Eucharistic Prayers this summer -- changes that are intended to be more inclusive, allowing God to be celebrated in all genders.
Both houses of General Convention adopted a resolution last summer that allows all congregations in the Episcopal Church to use optional, expansive-language versions of three Eucharistic Prayers from the 1970 Book of Common Prayer.
The original versions of the prayers are not going away, we simply are trying out the new language this summer to see if this works for our congregation.
As you participate in our 10 a.m. worship services this summer, please pay attention to your bulletin for the language changes -- the new language will be in bold print. (There are no changes to the 8 a.m. service.)
Please keep an open mind and an open heart as we explore the new language at Grace. If you would like to share your thoughts or have any questions, please contact Fr. Todd.
