Dismantling Racism Workshop Comes to Grace Church
Friday, Oct. 11 - Saturday, Oct. 12
8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. (both days)
Will you seek and serve Christ in all persons,
loving your neighbor as yourself?
Will you strive for justice and peace among all people,
and respect the dignity of every human being?
Racial justice is central to living out our baptismal covenant. We invite everyone to be part of this special workshop at Grace to get a better understanding of institutional and internalized racism, and identify ways we can work towards racial justice.
The workshop is facilitated by the Dismantling Racism Commission and is grounded in Biblical scripture and based on Episcopal Church teaching.
The training will cover the history of racism in the Church, define central components of anti-racism theory, and give us resources to build a stronger community.
There is no cost for this workshop. Lunch, beverages and snacks are included. Mark your calendar now -- registration will begin in early fall.
We understand this is a big time commitment - two full days! - but we strongly encourage you to make the time to be a part of this important event.
