164 th Annual Meeting Set for January 22 at 9 a.m.
All are encouraged to attend the 164th annual meeting of Grace Parish on Sunday, January 22, at 9 a.m. in the parish hall. At this gathering parish members will elect new vestry members for three year terms, hear reports on the financial status of the parish, get an update on the new rector search process and hear thoughts from our leadership on the year ahead.
The vestry approved expanding the number of Vestry members by one by adding one new member each year for 2023, 2024 and 2025. This change allows the vestry to expand participation in the leadership and management of the parish (this year, electing two new members instead of one). It is meant to encourage greater diversity in terms of parish input and greater support from the vestry for parish ministries. This change will bring the total number of vestry members to 12 by 2025.
Current vestry member, Rebecca Harrison will run for a second three-year term. Typically, parish members are only allowed to serve two consecutive three-year terms as a vestry member. However, at the vestry's discretion, church Canons allow the senior warden to serve one additional year when a permanent rector is not present. Therefore, to support the remainder of the transition process, Chris Ludbrook has agreed to serve one additional year as Senior Warden. Jane Cenova and Mike Lillmars were nominated to serve for a three-year term.
