Confirmation

Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ and receive strength from the Holy spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop.  (BCP, pg. 860)

Grace Episcopal Church is offering a class for 8th graders and older who are interested in being confirmed. The Youth Confirmation Class will be led by The Rev. D. Rebecca Dinovo and run throughout the 2011-2012 school year. Classes are held on Sunday mornings from 9 till 9:50. The group will gather every Sunday, with two Sundays a month being required class time (12 classes total). The other Sundays of the month will be for community building and social/fun time together.

Expectations for our confirmands include:

• attendance at the class sessions
• attendance at worship services, including at least two Holy Week services
• participation in a service project (to be determined by the class)
• attendance in our closing retreat (May 4-5)

Confirmation will take place Saturday, May 19 at Christ Church Cathedral in St. Louis.
