Adult Christian Formation

foot washingAt Grace Church, we believe you’re never too old to stop growing in faith! Christian Formation is the lifelong process of growing in relationship with God, self, others and all creation.

Sunday Morning Adult Classes

Grace offers a weekly Sunday Series for adults at 9 a.m. (between our worship services). The classes explore a variety of topics, using media and including guest presenters. Please check current communications for current topics.

You can also explore your faith through Grace’s Online Academy. Each month, we feature a class led by a noted theologian on various topics. The classes are free and completely self-directed for your convenience. If you would like to learn more or enroll in a class, please e-mail Janis Greenbaum.

Grace also offers formation programs during Advent, Lent and other special times in our church year. Please check our current publications for available classes.

Contact Director of Christian Formation & Communications Janis Greenbaum for more information about our programs.

Book Study Group

The Book Study Group meets to read and discuss books in Kean Library every Tuesday from 10 till 11:45 a.m. (following our 9:30 Holy Eucharist in the Chapel of the Apostles). The group chooses from fiction, non-fiction and spiritual titles and enjoys discussing morals and religious themes in our modern world. The group is also very pastoral among its members and regularly prays for the people of our parish. All women are welcome to be a part of this group.

Meditation Group

This group meets every Thursday morning from 10:15 till 11:30. The morning begins with a brief reflection or verse, then a short discussion of the reflection if desired and/or it seems called for. The group then moves to 20 minutes of silent prayer (meditation), and then proceeds to lectio divina , which is a scriptural, spiritual, meditative reading. The morning ends with more discussion. All are invited to attend!

Women of Grace

If you are a woman who attends Grace Church, you are automatically a member of Women of Grace, which is part of the national organization known as Episcopal Church Women (ECW). This group connects all women of the parish to the whole Church through a program  of worship, study, service, gifts and fellowship so that each woman may find her place in the parish and the mission of the Church. Our programs and charitable contributions are supported through an annual voluntary contribution of $10 per woman. Women of Grace meets monthly from September through May, usually on the second Tuesday of the month.
