Yes, add a little bit of holy oil (unction) to the ashes and stir it up, to make a thin paste with the ashes before the service.

Does anyone have the procedure for doing the ashes. I am planning to do this on our Sacaton reservation on Shrove Tuesday followed by a potluck and lenten journey calendar making with the people from 5 of the missions. I would like it to be better than last year. I understand that maybe oil help make the ashes cohesive?

I have enjoyed watching this project evolve for 25 of the 30 yrs and was honored to contribute many yrs ago. If I know Mary Etta, I'll be recruited for more needlework. These women truly are "the saints of God."

Janis, this is one of the best church websites I have visited. Very friendly and easy for even a novice visitor to follow.

One suggestion: Could you include a "Print" button on each of the articles intended for printing out - such as this one on "Feasting on Gratitude". This way we would only print the story (which is 2 pages) and not the headers and side banners which adds another 2 pages to the printout. This would also help in our Greening efforts.

Thanks for what you're doing.

I used to work with Janet's daughter Megan and got to know her through Janet. She was here in Kansas City visiting Megan a lot and all of us at Homewood Suites had the pleasure of getting to know both Janet and Mike. Everyone at the hotel wants send their thoughts and prayers to the family and let them know what a wonderful person we thought she was in the short amount of time we had the chance to know her. She will always be remembered and thought of. Every single person that works here (25 of us) want Megan and her family to know how sorry we are for their loss.
