Enjoy a lovely evening with your friends and support Grace’s youth mission trip at our annual Elegant Italian Dinner, Saturday, Jan. 30.

Plans for the evening include a social hour, silent auction, musical entertainment, raffles and a homemade lasagna dinner with dessert. It’s a wonderful way to support our outreach efforts and get to know our high school youth as they serve your dinner! This is an adult dinner, but young children are invited to enjoy pizza and games with this year’s confirmation students in a separate area of the church.

The cost of the dinner is $15 per person. Child care (pizza & games) is $7 per child, with a $20 family max. Tickets will be available to purchase after worship services Sunday, Jan. 17 and 24. You can also purchase tickets online or by contacting Janis Greenbaum in the church office.

This fun event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for our annual youth mission trip. Each summer youth and adult chaperones spend one week living and volunteering in another community. This year our group will be traveling to Dodge County, Wisconsin, where we will work with Habitat for Humanity. This is Grace’s 21st annual youth mission trip!

Youth & Parent Participation:

The Elegant Italian Dinner requires the help of of many students, parents and youth supporters to be a success! Participation in the event is mandatory for all youth planning to be a part of our mission trip, but we hope all high school students will want to be involved!

Students:

  • Sunday, Jan. 17
    8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
    11 a.m. – Noon
    Sell tickets after church
  • Sunday, Jan. 24
    8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
    11 a.m. – Noon
    Sell tickets after church
  • Thursday, Jan. 28
    6-9 p.m.
    Lasagna cooking and Albright Hall set-up
  • Saturday, Jan. 30
    10 a.m. – noon
    Server training and final preps
  • Saturday, Jan. 30
    5 – 10 p.m.
    The big event! (and clean-up)
    **All students should wear dark (blue or black) pants/skirt and a white shirt
    ***Youth and/or adult musicians needed to provide music during dinner. Please contact Janis if you would like to perform!

    8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m.
    11 a.m. – Noon
    Sell left-over meals after church

Parents:

  • Kitchen / cooking helpers

  • Set-up / clean-up helpers
    All are needed and wanted Thursday evening at 6 p.m. and Saturday after dinner!
  • Bake a dessert (no cookies or brownies, please)
    OR donate $15 toward the purchase of a dessert.
    Bring cash donations Thursday evening or baked goods Saturday morning.
  • Donate a silent auction item
    We’re looking for sports tickets, themed baskets, vacation weekends, art items, or personal services (dog walking, yard work, music lessons, etc.). Contact Janis Greenbaum no later than Jan. 26 if you have a donation.
  • Buy tickets to the dinner or make a donation if you can’t come!
  • Buy leftover meals after church Sunday, Jan. 31 and save yourself from fixing dinner that night!

    I will donate a sugar-free chocolate silk pie (purchased at Dierbergs). Cafeterias put a toothpick in each slice of sugar-free pie or cake to differentiate it from the regular desserts. (my husband is a diabetic and you usually do not have any sugar-free desserts).
