18686975462_64a4ca008c_zWednesdays on our mission trips are designated as “fun days.” After two long days of hard work, our crew took a break today and headed about an hour west to Mt. Olympus theme park in Wisconsin Dells.

Mt. Olympus has roller coasters, go carts, and various crazy rides that involve tall towers and bungee cord. The park also has an indoor and outdoor water park, but our crew preferred to stay with the rides today. The roller coasters – named Hades, Zeus, Cyclops and Pegasus – are all wooden roller coasters and looked pretty fun (wish I still had the stomach to ride them!). Several of the youth said Hades was the best coaster they’ve ever ridden.

Will and Katie get the prize for the bravery today, by taking on the Mighty Hermes Swing (yes, one of the crazy bungee cord rides!). The chaperones and a few less-daring youth members had fun racing on four different go cart tracks.

We left the park about 5 p.m. and enjoyed a delicious dinner at the High Point restaurant in Wisconsin Dells. We had great service and great food and were treated to a little street performance magic before we left.

I know this is beginning to sound like a broken record, but the weather was really spectacular today. We are so blessed to be here at such a beautiful time of the year!

Our group definitely knows how to play as hard as we work!
