Mother’s Day Food Drive for KirkCare
On April 21, 2015
by Christie Boyle
Celebrate Mother’s Day this year by donating a bag of groceries, a Shop ‘n Save gift card or a check in honor or in memory of your mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, cousin, aunt, godmother, or friend. Include the relationship on the white form so that we may remember her appropriately.
Grocery bags, forms and a list of suggested donations will be distributed after church on April 26 and May 3. (The suggested donations list and a downloadable form are also available below.) Please return the accompanying form no later than Tuesday, May 5, so the names of those in whose memory or honor donations are made may be listed in the bulletin on Mother’s Day.
Bring the groceries, gift card or check (payable to “Grace Episcopal Church” with “Kirk Care” on the memo line) to church no later than Mother’s Day, May 10, or during the two weeks before. A collection cart, table and the box for the white forms will be in Albright Parish Hall during the two weeks before Mother’s Day. If you bring gift cards or checks before Sunday, please put them in the lock box on the wall by the mailboxes and mark them “Mother’s Day Drive for Kirk Care.” On Sunday before the worship service, someone will assist you in placing your donation on the steps in front of the altar for a blessing. If you need to bring the white form on Mother’s Day, place it in the Mother’s Day box or hand it to an usher.
In the week following Mother’s Day, a letter will be sent to each mother or other loved one in whose honor a donation was given, telling her of the sustaining gift you gave in her name. Delivery to Kirk Care will be made early in the week.
