erd goatGrace’s Church School Ministry invites the parish to take part in a special collection throughout Lent in our Sunday School classrooms to help feed the hungry.

Our goal is to purchase a goat (or two or more) through Episcopal Relief and Development’s Gifts for Life program. The goats are sent to impoverished families around the world to be raised and produce staple items such as milk, cheese and manure for farming. ERD’s program helps alleviate hunger and produce a food supply that is nutritious, easily available and affordable.

Each goat costs $80. Please encourage your students to bring in their spare change or a portion of their allowance each week throughout Lent to contribute to this cause. Adults are also welcome to contribute by writing a check to Grace Church, with “ERD” on the memo line.

Our special collection begins Sunday, Feb. 22. Look for our “goat” posters throughout the church to follow our collection progress throughout Lent. Thank you for sharing your blessings with those less fortunate this Lenten season.
