recycle holiday lights‘Tis the Season to Recycle!  Reduce waste and spread cheer this holiday season by donating your broken or unwanted holiday lights to St. Louis Green’s 2014 Holiday Light Recycling Drive! This year, St. Louis Green hopes to divert more than 134,000 pounds of lights from entering our landfills.

Grace Church is proud to once again be a drop-off site for this recycling program. You’ll find the red recycling bin next to the back doors of the church. Drop your lights off any time between December 10 and January 18.

St. Louis Green, Inc., was founded to address a need in the St. Louis community for information about green businesses, green products and green events. Founder and Executive Director, Craig Jung, noticed that people were looking for information and education about sustainable lifestyles. In 2007, he created, a resource for everything green in the St. Louis region. The mission of the 501(c)3 non-profit organization is to empower others to learn about and implement sustainable lifestyles.

“Our goal this year is 134,000 pounds of lights diverted from local landfills,” Jung says. The lights collected in this drive will be recycled and sent back to manufacturers to be used in new products.
