For the past 19 years, youth members from Grace Church have dedicated a week of their summer vacations to helping other people, taking on new responsibilities and creating life-long memories. And now we’re getting ready for our 20th annual youth mission trip — are YOU going to be in on the fun?

Throughout the years, we have:

  • traveled to places in Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and Iowa (to name just a few);
  • built houses, cleaned up communities, done landscaping work and organized charity distribution stores;
  • had fun at amusement parks, shopping malls, miniature golf courses and ice cream shops;
  • met lots of wonderful people, enjoyed amazing hospitality, slept in some pretty strange places and prayed together under all kinds of circumstances.

We hope all of these experiences help our youth grow and mature into responsible young adults who value friendship, service and doing God’s work in the world.

Our 2015 Youth Mission Trip is on the calendar for June 7 – 13. We will once again spend a week working with Habitat for Humanity. Plans are underway to select the perfect location, but we need to have an idea of how many students will be participating.

If you have a high school student or recent graduate who would enjoy this wonderful opportunity, please contact Janis Greenbaum, Director of Christian Formation & Communications at Grace Church, as soon as possible. We will put you on our contact list to keep you updated on our plans and student expectations. Our first student-parent-chaperone meeting will be Sunday, Nov. 16, following our 10 a.m. worship service.

We also have openings for adult chaperones for this year’s trip (male and female) — please let Janis know if you are interested in lending a hand.

We invite you to be inspired and transformed as we live out the mission of our church!
