Youth mission trip: A Grace Church tradition
On May 28, 2014
For the past 18 years, Grace’s youth have traveled around the country to serve those in need. Our 19th trip takes us to Cedar Rapids, Iowa the first week of June to work with Habitat for Humanity.
Youth members Christian Davis, Kelly Davis, Killian Malottke, Andrew McDowell, Will McDowell, Emmy Nixon, MK Peck, Matthew Royce, Sam Russell, and Matthew Woodruff have performed service projects, worked at fundraisers and attended worship services throughout the year to earn a spot on the trip. Grace members Mike Heyer and Jim Moore are organizing this year’s trip, with Skip Giessing, Sabine McDowell and Janis Greenbaum supporting the effort as additional chaperones.
The missioners leave Monday, June 2 and return Saturday, June 7. You can keep up with our trip through a blog on the church website and on Facebook. Senior missioners Andrew McDowell and Emmy Nixon will share their reflections from the trip as our homily on Sunday, June 8 at 8 and 10 a.m.
