Grace opens its doors to SPROG summer camp
On May 29, 2014
The halls of Grace Church will be filled with the joyful sounds of young campers again this summer, as SPROG opens June 9 and runs through July 25.
Sprog Inc., is a non-profit corporation that provides recreational and educational activities for children entering kindergarten through eighth grade in Kirkwood and surrounding communities. SPROG’s seven week summer camp session is open to all students regardless of race, ethnicity religion, nationality, disability, or income. SPROG strives to maintain affordable options for working parents with multiple children, and parents in service professions that cannot afford other summer camps.
Grace Church has proudly hosted the camp since the mid-1970s. Along with providing the facility, Grace members also graciously donate school and craft supplies for the campers.
This year’s goal is to collect 100 sets of the following supplies:
- 1 composition notebook
- 8 pencils
- 1 box of 24 crayons
- 1 box of 8 markers
- 1 bottle of white glue
- 1 plastic pencil box or zip pouch
Please drop off your supplies or cash donations in the collection boxes in Albright Parish Hall. Fr. Todd will bless all our donations at the altar on June 1 (donations will continue to be accepted after that date).
You can also support SPROG by attending their annual Show-off Night. Each year, the campers put on a fun musical production for parents and the community. This year’s event will be Wednesday, July 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Albright Parish Hall.
