community of hopeThe Community of Hope trains and supports lay people for pastoral ministry within and beyond their congregations. A new training class, open to the Diocese of Missouri, will begin in September at The Church of St. Michael and St. George in Clayton. Based on Benedictine spirituality, Community of Hope teaches participants to “listen with the ear of the heart.”

Course size is limited. Classes will meet on Monday evenings, 5 to 8 p.m., September 8 through December 8. Each class includes worship and fellowship as well as teaching.

Interested laypeople apply with the backing of their clergy. Grace members who believe they may be called to the ministry of pastoral care are encouraged to discuss it with Fr. Todd McDowell or Sara Losse.
