diocesan logo_optThe annual meeting of the 174th Convention of the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri will convene Friday, Nov. 22 through Saturday, Nov. 23  at the DoubleTree Hilton Hotel and Conference Center in Chesterfield.

The Grace/St. Matthew’s merger will be one of the highlights of this year’s event. The convention will officially recognize the merger, with Grace Church hosting dinner Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. Our members are encouraged to attend and celebrate the event.  The cost of the dinner is $35 per person. Other convention highlights include:

  • A new format and rhythm for our work, with structured time for conversation, reflection, and simply enjoying one another

  • Updates on the missional life in the Diocese of Missouri, especially as it relates toMaking disciples | Building congregations | For the life of the world

  • News from the Diocese of Lui and Deaconess Anne House, two visible expressions of mission

  • Election to Diocesan offices, including lay and clerical deputies to the 2015 General Convention

  • Consideration of a Diocesan budget for 2014

Everyone is invited to attend Convention. Registration is due by November 15. The Revs. Todd McDowell and Doris Westfall will attend the convention. Grace’s lay convention delegates are: Becky Coulter, Pat O’Brien, Michele Nicosia, Vince Nicosia and Roy Pennington (alternate). St. Matthew’s delegates are Deborah Caby and Mary Etta Heggie.
