world food day - 500Youth members from Grace Church and around the diocese came together with thousands of area residents to package more than 230,000 meal packets for hunger relief efforts.

World Food Day was held at John Burroughs School on October 11. Participants worked for one-hour shifts preparing bags of soy, rice and vegetables that will be sent to local, national and international distribution centers to feed people in need.

World Food Day is a global day of awareness to commemorate the anniversary of the founding of the United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization.

Following the event at John Burroughs School, the Episcopal Youth Group headed to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Ladue for an evening of fun and games.

Thanks to everyone who participated in this important (and fun) service project! And thanks to St. Peter’s Youth Group for being a great host!
