pentecost baptism_optGrace Episcopal Church celebrated the coming of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost Sunday – May 19, 2013 –  with four baptisms and the joyful merger with St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.

At the first Pentecost, the apostles asked Peter what they should do. Peter responded, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ so that your sins may be forgiven; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 2:38)

God called four new members to receive the gift of the Holy Spirit at Grace Church this Pentecost: 5-month old William Nibberitch and three members of the Taussig family: Jennifer, Freddie and Claire.

This was also our first day of worshiping as a combined parish with the people of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church.   The day featured high-flying dove banners, brass musicians and a Pentecost picnic in our parish hall.

We have many pictures from this joyful day at Grace Church. They are divided into 4 separate slide shows below:

  • 8 a.m. worship service
  • 10 a.m. worship service
  • baptisms (during 10 a.m. worship service)
  • receptions
