UPDATE: Grace Church’s 2013 Mother’s Day Food Drive brought in 52 full bags of groceries and nearly $600 in cash and grocery gift card donation. Thanks to everyone for your generous support to help Kirk Care and our neighbors in need!

(original story:)

Celebrate Mother’s Day this year by donating a bag of groceries, a Shop ‘n Save gift card or a check in honor or memory of an important woman in your life. All our donations will go to Kirk Care, where they will be distributed to our neighbors in need throughout the Kirkwood School District.

Let’s meet the challenge from Trinity-Kirksville, who collected 1,499 pounds of food in March!

You may already have a paper grocery bag with information on this important drive, suggested donations and a form on which to list the one(s) whom you are remembering. Empty bags also will be distributed after both services on May 5, and extra forms and bags are available in our parish hall.

Please bring your filled bag(s) before the church service you attend on May 12 or leave it/them on the designated table in the parish hall during the week of May 5. Put donation forms in the decorated box by May 7 to be listed in the bulletin. If you choose to donate a Shop ‘n Save gift card or money, please drop them in the decorated box in the narthex on Mother’s Day or put them in an envelope in our financial administrator Deborah Ritchie’s mailbox.

Please join Women of Grace and Grace’s Kirk Care board representatives in this simple and special way to honor your mother or other special person and those in need on Mother’s Day.

We will send a card to each loved one in whose honor a donation is given, telling her of your gift in her name. On Mother’s Day, a prayer will be said for those in whose memory or honor these gifts were donated.

Thank you for your generosity!
