Grace Church celebrates Confirmation
On April 30, 2013
Thirty people from seven parishes were confirmed, received or reaffirmed at the event, which was led by the Rt. Rev. Wayne Smith.
Confirmation is one of seven holy sacraments of the Church. It is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop (BCP, P. 860). Our candidates from Grace attended classes and worship services and took part in service projects throughout this school year to prepare for their day of confirmation.
Grace presented our newly-confirmed members during the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday, April 28 and celebrated this achievement in their faith formation with a reception in our parish hall following the service. Congratulations to all our confirmands:
M.K. Peck, Matthew Woodruff, Jonathan Padgett, Sheila Stanton, Sam Russell, Matthew Capriglione, Tori Giessing and Samantha Shands and Killian Malottke. (Due to a scheduling conflict, Killian was confirmed at a separate service Sunday, April 28 at the Episcopal Church of St. Michael and St. George in Clayton.)
