Grace in transition: Mo. Rebecca moving to Oregon
On December 5, 2012
After a time of prayer, reflection and discernment, Mother Rebecca Dinovo has accepted God’s call to serve the people of Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in Milwaukie, Oregon (near Portland) as their next Rector. Her last day with us will be January 6, 2013.
Mo. Rebecca has served as Grace’s Associate Rector since May 2011. “I am going to miss the people of Grace deeply, and it is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye,” Rebecca said. “It has been wonderful to get to know the hospitable, loving, warm people of Grace who have made our time in St. Louis truly blessed.”
Fr. Todd McDowell announced that he will postpone a search for a new Associate Rector until our discernment with Saint Matthew’s is completed. “In the meantime,” Fr. Todd explained, “I have talked with clergy in our diocese who will be available on a part-time basis to help us through this season of transition.”
We have been blessed to share this time with Rebecca and will miss her kind and faithful presence. Please plan to join us on Sunday, Jan. 6, The Epiphany of our Lord Jesus Christ, at a special festive reception following each worship service. We’ll bid God’s blessing on Rebecca, Salvatore and Charlotte and celebrate their ministry with us at Grace.
