All are invited to a special choral Evensong at Grace Episcopal Church on Sunday, July 29 at 4 p.m. The service will feature the Royal School of Church Music, a group of more than 80 young choristers and musicians from around the country.
RSCM America sponsors eight summer training courses throughout the United States. Each course is as unique as the setting. All courses provide the opportunity for choral training and exploring wonderful choral music in liturgical and/or concert settings. The St. Louis Course was begun in 1998 by Grace Organist and Choir Master, Phillip Brunswick.
This year’s course will mark 15 years of joining together of voices from diverse programs, the sharing of ideas from various professionals and the intense growing – socially, musically and spiritually. More than 80 choristers and musicians from Colorado, Kansas, Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Missouri will be in residence for the week at Todd Hall Retreat Center in Columbia, IL and will sing services on July 29 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis (at 10 a.m.) and at Grace (at 4 p.m.). We are delighted to welcome Dr. Dale Adelmann, Director of Music at St. Philip’s Cathedral in Atlanta as Guest Music Director.
The RSCM supports a world-wide network of 8,500 churches, schools and individuals. RSCM is committed to achieving the best use of good music in worship – whatever the resources, whatever the style. Through education, training, publications, advice and encouragement, RSCM aims to support church music today and to invest in church music for the future.
