Hundreds of live Maine lobsters made their way to Kirkwood to help raise money for a local bereavement center for children and families. It was all part of Grace’s 10th Annual “Lobsters on the Loose” event, which raised $1,491 for Annie’s Hope.

A committee from Grace took orders for 328 lobsters from church and community members and arranged to have the crustaceans flown in from the East Coast. When they arrived, the group cooked, wrapped and prepared the lobsters for distribution. The group also sold some classic lobster side dishes to go along with the main course.

Over the past 5 years, this event has raised close to $11,000 for Annie’s Hope. Thanks to everyone in our community who supports this effort, especially to Grace’s hardworking volunteers: Janet & Steve Mika, Julie & Tom Grossman, Jane & Tim Cenova, Colette & Richard Feldges, Lora & Tom Schoeffel, Jeanie Davis, Skip Giessing and Belinda Nunez.
