deaconess anne houseThe public got a chance to see inside The Deaconess Anne House, a new mission project of the Diocese of Missouri, at an Open House on Saturday, Aug. 17.

The Deaconess Anne House is part of the Episcopal Service Corps and will be the home of a group of young adults who will live and serve in the North St. Louis Community for a year at a time. The mission is headed by the Rev. Jonathan Stratton. The first group of interns are set to arrive August 31.

The Open House event served as a way to celebrate and thank all the people from around the diocese and the community who have helped renovate the property at 1416 Sullivan Avenue in North St. Louis. Many of the parishes in our diocese, including Grace Church, “adopted” a room and spent the summer stripping floors, painting walls and adding furnishings in the house.

Grace Rector, the Rev. Todd McDowell, officially blessed the Grace bedroom at the Open House event. Outreach Committee Chairs Vince and Michele Nicosia were there, along with many other members who worked and/or supported the project.

Our congratulations and gratitude go to the Rev. Jon Stratton and all the helping hands and loving hearts who are making this mission possible!
